Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding
On the 18th October 2022, the Growth Borough Partnership (GBP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with partners from the Greater London Authority and London Legacy Development Corporation.
The MoU sets out that:-
Planning powers in and around the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park return to Hackney Council and other London 2012 host boroughs on 1 December 2024
The GBP, LLDC and other Olympic host boroughs working together to ensure the park is retained as one ‘Great Estate’ that delivers long-term, financially sustainable, social and economic benefits for local people
A joint inclusive economy approach so that the benefits of development and growth on and around Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park are experienced by more local residents
A commitment to enabling genuine community involvement in the evolution of the LLDC, reflecting the local democratic mandates of local representatives.
